(un)limited freedom at Trafó

December 27-29

The joint installation of jewelry designer Mária Roskó and artist Ádám Zsófia guides you to an imaginary landscape built of spatial shapes and jewelry tools, some of whose landscapes become the site of an improvised dance element. The subjects of the performance exhibition entitled (un) limited freedom are brought to life by the series of movements of the dancer-choreographer Ayumi Toyabe and the video recording of the composer Bálint Bolcs.

Accompanied by electronic musical improvisation, the dancer paints, draws and leaves traces on the installation elements, which to a certain extent limit the possibility of free movement. While different shapes encourage different movements and make movement more difficult, improvisation gives freedom and constantly rewrites the relationship of jewelry to the body. The traces painted on the space elements record and lift the imprint of the process of creation into the exhibition space.
