【Official Selection】A|R|M|x (Mobile Dance Film Festival)

A|R|M|x has been officially selected for the Mobile Dance Film Festival in New York.

Synopsis

The creation started in early April 2020.

In the country where I live, Hungary, coronavirus outing restrictions had already begun. I have a dance piece called ARMx which is in progress. However, due to the effects of the virus, I can’t meet all members in the dance studio. I can’t make rehearsals.

In the story of ARMx, the dancers are looking for a way of communication, a way of connection. I found this resembles the current situation of the world.

The ARMx performance piece transformed into a digital work, AIRIMIx. We used audience feedback from the ARMx work-in-progress showing on 29th February 2020.

The number of dancers, which was 5 in the original piece, increased to 9 and the group became even more international.

The feeling of collaborating with people they have never met... The feeling of working on the same thing together even though they are far apart…

I hope that even one person can convey these to many people.
